starfish re-imagined as the tidepools they live in! all of my anima series drawings showcase native fauna found in the pacific northwest [and sometimes other parts of the country, and world, too!], and the ecosystem in which it lives.

before i begin each drawing i research all the plants and animals that the particular animal lives amongst. my research involves studying guidebooks, online research, talking to naturalists, and in-person visits to the specific area with my sketchbook and camera in hand.

each original drawing is then scanned and then sent to my favorite family-owned print shop here in portland, oregon and these artisan-quality prints are made. the shop and i have devised a meticulous 5-color process that ensures accurate reproduction of the vibrant colors i use in my original drawings. the photo cannot convey just how insanely gorgeous and vibrant these colors are in person!

hang as-is - for u.s. orders it comes packaged in a plastic bag with cardboard backing - or frame it in a standard 16" by 20" frame. ikea's ribba frame is ideal!
