this single notecard features my highly detailed salmon sea-to-source artwork from my anima art series. all of my anima series drawings showcase native fauna found in the pacific northwest [and sometimes other parts of the country, and world, too!], and the ecosystem in which it lives.

before i begin each drawing i research all the plants and animals that the particular animal lives amongst. my research involves studying guidebooks, online research, talking to naturalists, and in-person visits to the specific area with my sketchbook and camera in hand.
